About Us
(How we came to be)

Begun in 1999, the New Hampshire Minimum Development Partnership was created to pursue two goals:

      1. to define "good development principles and practices; and
      2. to assist in the process of building good development

The cumulative effects of land development projects in are changing the character and scale of New Hampshire communities, as well as quality of life — all vital to the continued economic vitality and attractiveness of the state.

In response to these challenges, we’ve convened a public/private partnership between various development interests in an effort to define and encourage "good development".

What is Good Development?:

We promote "good development", or the integration of ecological design, energy efficiency, pollution prevention, and indoor environmental quality in site and building design, construction, operation, and maintenance. This integrates the green, the built, and the social infrastructures of our state and its communities.
